Summer Construction
South is getting many upgrades to the facility right now! As a result, the building will be closed for all South families and staff for the summer. The construction should be wrapped up in time for the 14-15 school year. Check back here in early August for more details on when the building will reopen.

SCHOOL PERFORMANCE FRAMEWORK: South has earned a rating of Meets Expectations (green) on the SPF Report

All other students:
August 15th: 8:00 am - 2:00 pm

FALL SPORTS REGISTRATION – New process this year!
Friday August 8th 8am-3pm
Monday August 11th 8am-12pm

  • All Student-Athletes need to complete the Athletic Packet and deliver it to the Athletic office at fall sports registration (this includes current physical paperwork)
  • All Student-Athletes will need to complete the Pay to Play process at sports registration
  • Once completed the Student-Athlete will receive the Golden Ticket which he/she will bring to their coach on the first day of practice
  • ONLY those Student-Athletes with a Golden Ticket will be allowed to practice or tryout on August 11th!

TECHNOLOGY NEWS FOR SOUTH: Starting in the fall, all 9th grade students at South will receive a Kindle Fire HD to use in their classes. The Fires will be used as a part of blended learning in all ninth grade academic classes and will begin using online course rooms to deliver learning materials and activities instead of the more traditional paper based ones. Going digital will allow teachers to increase iincrease individualized learning opportunities for all 9th graders. Students and teachers will also be able to use the Fires open digital communications through DPS Google accounts. South High School will be the first high school in Denver to put tablets and blended learning in place for an entire grade level.
