South’s Monthly Attendance Challenge!
As a result of the DPS Challenge regarding attendance in all DPS schools (no matter what the current attendance rate is in each school),  we are raising the bar at South to be the BEST in the district by setting South’s challenges to our students:

Challenge #1: Class competition – Class (9th, 10th, 11th, & 12th) with the highest attendance rate for the month will be served breakfast in the school cafeteria by the class with the lowest attendance rate.  Prizes will also be raffled off to members of the winning class who attend the breakfast!

Challenge #2: Staff to the students:  If the monthly attendance dips below 88% for any of the four classes the school will be locked down during lunch for one day.  An announcement will be made to the student body prior to the start of lunch and all students will remain in the school building for the entire lunch period.

Parents, Students and Staff – We all need to work together to improve school-wide attendance!  The goal is above 90% for the year – school wide!!!

As a reminder, weather and street conditions can vary greatly within the boundaries of Denver. Detailed DPS winter weather and snow day information, including information on how families can find out if school is closed, can be found on the DPS website: http://communications.dpsk12.org/announcements/winter-weather-and-snow-day-information."
