SHOWCASE NIGHT FOR SOUTH: Thursday, November 20th: 6-8 pm
We are inviting all current 8th graders and their parents to our South High School Showcase Event! You will hear from administrators, teachers, parents and students about South. You will have the opportunity to ask questions, take a tour and more! Light refreshments will be served. Please join us as we showcase the wonderful things we have to offer at South High School. South offers a cross-cultural academic experience that challenges all students to attain the highest levels of academic success. We are a neighborhood school with global outreach! Thursday, December 4th: 5:30-7:00 pm: Opening Art Reception - Room 105. At 6:30, our band will be performing in the auditorium.
Thursday, December 11th: 5:30-7:00 pm: Art Reception and Show Closing: 5:30-7:00. At 6:30, our choir will be performing in the auditorium.

COMMUNITY MOVING SHOWING AND PANEL DISCUSSION:
Tuesday, December 9th at 6:30, we will be showing the award-winning film, Matt Shepard Is A Friend of Mine. The documentary tells the story of Matthew Shepard, a 21-year old gay man murdered in Wyoming in 1998. Directed by a personal friend and produced by a former Facing History student, the film examines the dangers of intolerance through a personal lens. A panel discussion will follow.
