Week of Aug. 24: Community Engagement Events Announcing the Launch of the Succession

o Collaborative School Committee

o Full Faculty Meeting

o Community Engagement Forum – (FACE Team to support)


Aug. 24 – Nov. 1. : National Posting: HR recruitment and pooled screening of leadership candidates

– Posting immediately following the Community Engagement Forum

– Candidate Search Firm, TopSchoolJobs, SchoolSpring, CDE website, and etc.

– HR leadership screening process for possible candidates

– Identify pool of candidates for forward through the Assessment Center Process


Week of Nov. 1: Meet with the CSC to determine the School Principal Search

Advisory Committee (SPSAC) to participate in the school-based interview process *Communication about this opportunity to be distributed week of Jan. 1

– CSC Members select the SPSAC membership (school based interview) to include:

o Parent Representatives consistent with various constituent groups

o Faculty Representatives

o Student Representatives

o Community Representatives


Week of Nov. 9: Engage SPSAC and student group to gather input on leadership characteristics to focus on in the Assessment Center


Dec. 3 and 4: Pre-Screened Candidates to participate in the Assessment Center Process

– Behavior/Skills identified for successful leadership of a large, comprehensive high school


Week of Dec. 7: School-Based Process/ Formal Interview

o HR Training with SPSAC

o Advisory Committee Interview

o Student Focus Group

o Teacher Focus Group

o School Tour

o Learning Walk with Network Team

o Location: TBD


Week of Dec. 7: Evening Community Forum with Finalists

Week of Dec. 7 or Dec. 14: Finalists moved forward to interview with Senior Leadership Team

Week of Dec. 14: Principal Resident/ Succession Plan Leader Named


We will work closely with the FACE team to engage the community early in the process with an announcement shortly after school begins about the search and timeline. Opportunities will be provided to join the SPSAC for all families and to provide written input on the characteristics the community feels we should be looking for in our search. Students will also be given the opportunity to lend their voice to the search process as participants in interviews and in giving input on the search characteristics.
