The Denver Scholarship Foundation is here to help South High School students get into, pay for and succeed in college. We offer college and financial aid advice, and we provide scholarships to students who otherwise couldn’t afford to pay for college.


Your Future Center, in room 114, is your college resource center. Ms. Meredith is here to assist you with everything college and financial aid related. Ms. Meredith is more than happy to schedule a meeting with you to plan out your student’s path to college.


Denver Scholarship Eligibility

  • Enrollment: Attend a DPS high school for all four years before graduation
  • Grade Point Average: must graduate with a minimum cumulative GPA of a 2.0
  • Financial Aid: Be eligible to receive federal financial aid
  • Deadline: Complete the application by April 1st


Bragging Rights from the Class of 2012

  • Over $4.5 million in scholarship money awarded
  • 8 recipients of the Daniels Fund Scholarship and 13 semi-finalists
  • 100% of seniors applied to at least one college

The TRiO Educational Talent Search program is a pre-college program that encourages students from grades 6th-12th to graduate from high school and then continue to a post-secondary school of your choice. Students receive assistance in the following areas:
  • Career Exploration
  • College Admissions Assistance
  • Educational Field Trips
  • College Visits/Tours
  • Course Planning
  • Financial Aid Assistance / Workshops
  • Scholarship Information/Assistance
  • Self-Awareness Workshops
  • ACT / SAT Fee Waivers

Colorado GEAR UP is a program designed to prepare students for college. Our goal is to engage and enable students on their path to college access and success.  We work with students beginning in 9th grade at South and will follow them through out high school and into their first year of college. This is a federally funded program that is managed by the Colorado Department of Higher Education.   

Colorado GEAR UP is at the forefront of early remediation, offering our students the ability to complete college courses during high school. See www.coloradogearup.org for additional information.
